Connection heads
Connection heads are also sometimes referred to as protection heads. They protect the connection points in a temperature sensor assembly (thermocouple or RTD) from the external environment. They also help with temperature maintenance around the elements and provide easy access to the thermocouples as well as the block or transmitter for maintenance.
The choice of connection head is determined by the operating environment and type of sensing assembly in use. We offer a huge variety of materials, dimensions and designs. Some general guidelines:
● The metal connection heads have a temperature range of approximately -40÷100ºC and are available in brass, cast iron, stainless steel and aluminium.
● Our plastic connection heads offer excellent corrosion resistance with temperature resistance depending on the type of plastic: phenyl polioxide (130ºC), polypropylene (92ºC) and glass reinforced polyamide (80ºC).
● Some specialized connection heads include: those especially designed for the food and pharmaceutical industry, those that are flameproof and explosion resistant (ATEX) designed for hazardous environments and waterproof, dustproof, anti-corrosion and indoor/outdoor types.
