Type E, NiCr-CuNi
Type E thermocouple consists of a positive chromel wire and a negative constantan wire. This thermocouple type has a high sensitivity of 68 µV/°C, which makes it perfect for cryogenic use. With a narrow range of -110°C to 140°C it is not used as much as other thermocouples types. However type E has a stronger signal and higher accuracy than the type K and J at moderate temperatures. In oxidizing or inert atmospheres the operating temperature range is roughly –250°C to 900°C.
